One hundred photos dedicated to Armenia, captured over three years of living and traveling here.
Why My own?
I relocated to Armenia in 2022 and immediately fell in love with its nature, contrasts, and people. I began taking pictures casually, without any intention of sharing them publicly. I’m far from being a professional photographer; I capture images with my iPhone, so my photos are simply amateur shots and don’t claim to be of any significant value. Nevertheless, they are my own, and it’s time to share them. Why Private?
Traveling in Armenia feels more like a matter of chance and circumstance rather than a deliberate choice. However, it has become a deeply personal experience for me because many places in Armenia remain untouched and are filled with a spirit of freedom. The feeling of discovering an unknown city or location fosters an inner connection between the traveler and the place, making the experience very private. Why Armenia?
Because in 2022, I decided to create an alternate aerodrome here, in Armenia, to keep my funds and body safe. Little by little, the country became my home, and now I want to give something back to this welcoming place. If these photos help people to love and come to Armenia, I will be thrilled! And of course, it refers to "My Own Private Idaho", a movie by Gus Van Sant. The title implies that the main character lives in a world he has fictionalized for himself — an idealized "Idaho" where he still finds happiness.
